Knuckledraggin' DSP
Knuckledraggin’ DSP is the byproduct of a long and ongoing journey into the world of audio signal processing.
A journey that began with a healthy dose of curiosity and a cheap soldering iron - just enough to light the spark. Fueled by a newfound fascination, that early experimentation eventually grew into a two-decade-long career in the field of audio engineering and signal processing.
After many years spent tinkering with audio circuits and algorithms - using a mixture of careful research and questionable methods - Knuckledraggin’ DSP eventually took shape.
Knuckledraggin’ DSP was established as a small outlet for sharing some of that passion, along with the ideas, experiments, and occasional finished products that arise along the way.

Happy knuckle dragging.
Meet the maker
Ishay Berkovich
Ishay was born last century on the cold shores of the Baltic sea. Showing early signs of technological curiosity, he spent his formative years mastering the fine arts of tool-making and fire management.
As a teenager, Ishay divided his time between mashing keys and plucking strings. Although mastery remained elusive, computers and music firmly embedded themselves in his long-term interests. In his collegiate years, Ishay mostly focused on turning dials, pushing buttons, and soldering wires. Motivated by emerging technical possibilities, he spent his free time seeking ways to take his sound out of the box and bring his ideas to life.
Following the successful completion of his studies, Ishay spent approximately five years dividing his time between instructional responsibilities, training new disciples, and refining his craft under the watchful eye of a master shaman. His work included gremlin expulsion, magic smoke replacement, tape degaussing rituals, and a variety of other specialized services. It was during this time that Ishay began experimenting with ways to put his sound back in the box - an effort that rekindled his early fascination with computers and launched his journey into the world of DSP.
In the years that followed, Ishay joined a new tribe devoted to the arcane practice of audio signal processing. Over the next decade, and continuing to the present day, he has contributed to the design, implementation, and refinement of signal-processing systems, applying computational methods to the shaping, manipulation, and preservation of sound. Ishay’s interests include audio signal processing in the digital and analog domains, as well as the long-term study of sound, inside and outside its natural enclosure.
